June 1, 2013 is the anticipated date of when the updated version of the form will be released. ComCom Systems Inc. is in the process of updating its OCR Software and Services in order to adjust to the form changes. When the transition from the old version to the new version of the CMS 1500 form takes place, ComCom’s OCR Software and Services will be fully prepared to accommodate these changes and continue provided accurate reading and processing.
CMS 1500 Form Changes.
The NUCC (National Uniform Claim Committee) recently informed members of the health care industry of new changes being made to the CMS 1500 medical claim form. The newest version of this form, version 02/12, is updated to include eight more diagnosis codes, a QR code linked to the NUCC landing page for easily accessible information and several minor changes.
